Nfu-Oh #51

Purchased By Me Press Sample
Hi all! Another quickie post for you today!
(I completely forgot how easy and quick it is to blog when it's not a review lol!)

Nfu-Oh #51...You beautiful, beautiful flakie filled mofo. I love you.

Nfu oh 51

I have seriously been itching to wear this beauty again! I saw an opportunity when I had Contrary Polish River Market on - so I went for it! (Check out the new Contrary Collection here if you missed it!)
I added one coat over River Market!

Nfu oh 51 (2) Nfu oh 51 (1) Nfu oh 51 (3) Nfuoh 51 (4)

The last photo is a bit crazy, I had to make the indirect lighting crazy bright to bring out the shift on the flakies.
And then adjust the contrast in Photoshop so it is edited some! But only to show you it's glorious-ness!

I still can't get over the cuteness of the Nfu-Oh bottles or how pretty this polish is..and I've had this polish for two years!

Zoya Satins Fall 2013 Collection - Swatches & Review!

Good morning guys! How are you today?
I'm good, my tooth still hurts pretty bad but I'm going to the dentist at 4!
Pretty nervous about it though, I'm thinking I need a root canal -_-

But yesterday was Skylar's 4th birthday! Yay! Though TBH we didn't do much, but her party is tomorrow!
It should be tons of fun!

We also went to the
Realtor yesterday to send in our negotiations to the sellers, lets hope they are awesome and nice and fix what we asked! I really hope they do because our lease is up soon and I don't think we even have time to find another house anymore >.< Not another we like as much anyway!

Well enough rambling! Today's post is the Zoya Satin Fall Collection!
Yes I'm behind I know! *hides*

This collection is very pretty and full of saturated, magnificent jewel tones!
A few are a tiny bit brushstrokey (Channing, Claudine, Giovanna) but not enough to bother me at all.
All of these polishes applied nicely and most only needed two coats.
I can't recall a issue with any of them! Mason looks a bit off but I applied topcoat a tad too soon and it sort of smudged. Had nothing to do with the polish though! User error!

To reduce the risk of brushstrokes apply thin, slow coats!

My favorites are Mason, Neve and Maria Luisa! But I really love them all!
Channing is so fiery and gorgeous! I don't own anything like it!

Smitten Polishes are available for purchase through Etsy and Llarowe, and retail for $9.00-$10.50.

None of these polishes caused me any turmoil, but next time I might layer the Speck-tacular ones.
The black glitter is a little thicker than typical glitter, so if you apply coats too soon they can cause dragging- so make sure to wait for them to dry in between coats! They also require 2 coats of topcoat for complete smoothness.

I really love the colors, I couldn't even find perfect matches for layering, so they are unique shades for sure!
Ladybird is one of my favorites, the dustiness there is just so pretty! Naiad is just stunning as well! I knew I would love it the second I saw it! But they are all very pretty!

Here are some nail wheel swatches below you to show you layerings. It's nice that Candy Kisses is sheer enough to build up or to layer over different colors! It's very versatile!

Lancome Chocolate Mordaore, Bubbly Gold & Rose Plumeti Vernis in Love Swatches and Review

Happy Wednesday all! Today's post is three Lancome Vernis in Love polishes!
Lancome Vernis in Love
Chocolat Mordore, Bubbly Gold, and Rose Plumeti.
Lancome Chocolat Mordore (5) Lancome Chocolat Mordore (4)
Chocolat Mordore

This polish is delicious! It makes me think of chocolate fondue and going to the melting pot!
Then right after that thought I think of Mordor, even though it is a different spelling. haha
And then the foodie and nerd in me collide and I picture the Eye of Sauron with chocolate fondue instead of fire. /facepalm I know..I'm weird!
Anyway! Chocolat Mordore had a perfect formula, and required two coats for opacity.
Lancome Bubbly Gold (1) Lancome Bubbly Gold (2) Lancome Bubbly Gold (3) Lancome Bubbly Gold (4)
Lancome Bubbly Gold (5)
Bubbly Gold

Bubbly Gold in theory is a polish that I would absolutely hate.
I dislike most golds, I dislike brushstrokes and most metallic polishes in general.
So in my opinion Lancome has seriously worked magic with this polish, because I love it!
Some how against all odds, I really love this I was pretty shocked! I think it has a lot to do with all those gorgeous micro flakies! It required two flawless coats for opacity.
Lancome Rose Plumeti (3) Lancome Rose Plumeti (2) Lancome Rose Plumeti (1)
Rose Plumeti

I used three coats of Rose Plumeti. This was my least favorite out of the bunch.
A very pretty girly pink with micro shimmer, but despite the thickness it was a tiny bit sheer.
It isn't too thick to use or goopy by any means but a little too thick for my liking for a three coater.
_______________________________________________________________

This was my first experience trying Lancome nail polishes, I was quite impressed with their brushes!
I'm not actually very picky with brushes.. in fact I've only had two that actually bothered me.
But these are amazing! I was able to paint my nails much neater and closer to my cuticle than with a lot of other polish brands. I wish that all polishes had the same brush tip!

Lancome nail polishes are available to purchase from their website, and also from Macys, Nordstrom, and Dillards stores. Vernis in Love polishes retail for $15.00 for 6ml/2oz.

piCture pOlish Atomic - by Samarium's Swatches!!!

Hey guys!! Today is one of the most exciting days for me!
I finally get to tell you a secret that has been super hard to keep to myself!!
Do you remember my piCture pOlish Blogfest post from July?
Well because of that I was chosen (with many others) to help make a nail polish with piCture pOlish!
I got to work with the wonderful ladies from piCture pOlish to help create a Limited Edition collaboration shade with them!

Unfortunately I missed the package today so I didn't take my swatches with bottle pictures.
I do have a bottle atm but it isn't labelled but I did use it for some pretty macros later in this post!
I love my collaboration polish so much! It is very difficult to photograph though!

A single coat of Atomic over various polishes

First lets talk inspiration. Of course my first thought was the element Samarium!
Which my blog is named after. Samarium is a silvery white metal, named from the mineral samarskite.
Samarium oxidizes in the air, forming a grayish-yellow powder. Which is the reasoning for the gold shimmer sparkle in it! It is more visible when layering. But enough chit chat!

Atomic

I wish I could even begin to describe this polish. I will c&p the Picture Polish description when it is posted.
But trust me that this polish is beautiful and very intricate, I hope dearly that some fellow amazing bloggers will get their hands on it and help show it off!
I used three thin coats for opacity. Two coats is great coverage but there was a tiny but of VNL.
I love that this polish is versatile, not only does it build up beautifully- it can also be layered!
Granted it;s a little thick for layering so be sure to apply a nice even coat when doing so!
