Hey guys! I have another new [to me] indie brand to show you today! Initial Lacquer!

Arctic Night, Dessert Time, Paradise Kiss, Santa Went Crazy!, & Snowy Owl.

Arctic Night

"a blue jelly base with holo silver, green and red micro fine glitters."
I used three thin coats of Arctic Night. The formula was really smooth and went on super easy and evenly!
Initial Lacquer Dessert Time (1) Initial Lacquer Dessert Time (2)
Dessert Time

"a clear base mixed with matte glitters"

I layered Dessert Time over Elf Fab Fuchsia. Not really the best layering combination on my part, it makes it hard to see the bright colored glitters. Went on easily and evenly, I do wish there were more bright glitters but I also didn't fish for any.

Paradise Kiss

"a white shimmer base mixed with Iridescent and matte glitters."

The formula on Paradise Kiss wasn't that great, it's a bit thick but  bearable.

It can be opaque in three coats but it looks lumpy so I prefer it layered over white.
The bottom two pictures are two thin coats layered over white. I think I may add a tiny bit of thinner to this though.
Initial Lacquer Santa Went Crazy! (1) Initial Lacquer Santa Went Crazy! Matte (2)

Santa Went Crazy!
"a sheer metallic silver base with glitters"

I wanted to pair this polish in a way where you guys could see that it's not just for the holidays!
I layered two thin coats over Opi German-icure. The second picture is matteified!
I really love this combo, it is so odd and neat! And I love the red circle glitters so much!
The formula was really good, spread evenly and not overly thick.

Initial Lacquer Snowy Owl (2) Initial Lacquer Snowy Owl (1)
Snowy Owl
"a clear base with gold, white and holo silver glitters"

I decided to layer Snowy Owl over Arctic Night, I think I just used one coat..but it could have been 1.5.
I just love the itty bitty micro bar glitters! I know a lot of people hate bar glitter but not me!
Especially the little tiny ones. The formula was great, spread on very evenly with ease.

My Top 12 Polishes of 2012!

Hey guys! I'm a little late on this and have a few similar posts to come soon as well,
but here are my favorite 12 polishes I got in the year 2012!
I'm just doing one instead of Indie vs Mainstream etc. These are polishes I felt blown away by, used the most or just fell in love with during the past year!
My Top 12 Polishes of 2012 (2)
I separated them to have the more mainstream brands first then indies second!
I tried to not have too many indies included, but they really stole my heart this year!

I wanted this polish for almost a year before I finally broke down and bought it.
I wish I did sooner! This is the first time I have posted it on the blog. but it is easily one of my most worn polishes of the year. Three coats.
Zoya Aurora (4)

A England Dragon

It was a hard choice because I also really love Ascalon, and St George, but Dragon is one of my very favorite greens that I own and I had to include it!
A Rhyming Dictionary Crooked Magician (3)

Laquerlicious Disgruntled Elf, Melted Ice Cream & Mixed Berries - Swatches & Review!

Hello Lovelies! Today's post is of a relatively new indie polish brand called Laquerlicious!
Laquerlicious Laquerlicious
Disgruntled Elf, Melted Ice Cream, & Mixed Berries.
Laquerlicious Disgruntled Elf (1) Laquerlicious Disgruntled Elf (3)
Disgruntled Elf
"a sheer silver base with red, pink, green, light green and white large to tiny square, hex and slice matte glitter."
I layered Disgruntled Elf over China Glaze Running in Circles and Def Defying.
Such a cute holiday polish, I think the added pink makes it more versatile then a only red and green Christmas polish.
Laquerlicious Melted Icecream (1) Laquerlicious Melted Icecream (2)
Melted Ice Cream
"a clear base with Black, White, Light Pink, Purple, and Hot Pink Shredded Matte Glitter. "

I layered two coats of Melted Ice Cream over China Glaze Sweet Hook.
I recommend doing a bit of dabbing with this, it doesn't spread effortlessly but not many shredded glitter polishes do from my experience! Definitely worth the effort!
Laquerlicious Mixed Berries (3) Laquerlicious Mixed Berries (1) Laquerlicious Mixed Berries (2)
Mixed Berries"a magenta with a blue shimmer jelly base. It has micro bar glitter and purple & silver shredded glitter."

First I built up Mixed Berries on it own with three coats.
The formula is a little goopy due to the amount of glitters but applied very evenly.
I prefer it layered like below though!
Laquerlicious Mixed Berries Layered (1) Laquerlicious Mixed Berries Layered (3) Laquerlicious Mixed Berries Layered (2)
This is two coats of Mixed Berries over China Glaze Creative Fantasy.
Such a perfect match!! I love this polish so much, I have already ordered a spare! :D
This polish is so gorgeous, I did my best to capture it but it is even more amazing in person!
