Halloween Nail Art Challenge - Z is for Zombies 10/9

BRAAAIIINNNNSSSSSS hehe Today's Nail art challenge is ZOMBIES!
While I'm sure mine isn't the best or most creative-I really LOVE it!

The first few photos were taken right after I did them! I was like hell, why clean up lets add shit!
Haha so I used some matte burgundy, black and dark brown eye shadows to make my hands and cuticles look extra gross. including some liquid eyeliner to accentuate the creases on my fingers/knuckles.

Then before posting I decided to clean them up, the eye shadows were already washed off from washing my hands so lets make it look nice to wear in public haha..yes I do indeed plan to!
I also added a bit more "blood".
I will list the polishes & stuff I used below the pictures!
Zombie Nails Zombie Nail Art Zombie Nail Art Zombie
And all tidied up..
Zombie Mani Zombie Mani Zombie Manicure Zombie Manicure
I was trying to make them look like they were rotting, bloody and bruised under my nail.
I love how it came out :)

What I used!

I started with Nailtiques & basecoat per usual, followed with a single coat of Deborah Lippmann-Naked.
Afterwards I used a medium striping brush to line the Lunula of my nail with Urban Decay-Apocalypse.

Then using wedge makeup sponges, I sponged the following colors on rather randomly.
I used Zoya-Codie plus three acrylic paints in Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, and Raw Umber.
I also used the same colors to paint a bit of lines/marks with the same striping brush.

When that was dry I used two very thin coat of French Tip Dip Sheer Genius to sandwich what I did to make it appear beneath my nails. I added a coat of Seche Vite.
Here is what I did that you shouldn't do! (If you wanted to create this effect anyway.)
Do NOT add the blood before you use matte topcoat! Unless you want it all matte.
I wanted the blood to look fresh and running down my finger tips. SO I had to go back over it with topcoat to make it shiny lol. Not the end of the world but meh. Anyways..
After that is dry, using China Glaze-Ravishing Dahling (my go to blood color!)
I added the "blood"with a combo of the striping brush, and the brush from the polish bottle. Mostly the bottle brush to make it less neat. I used Butter London-Matte Finish to make it matte, and SV to make it shiny.

That is all! It sounds like it took sooo much longer than it really does-trust me!
I really hope you guys liked my gross nails :)
I'm a weirdo and seriously love them! Speaking of Zombies who else can't wait for The Walking Dead?!

Off to sleep! Bye guys!

Halloween Nail Art Challenge - Black Cats 10/4 (fail lol)

Not much to say about this mani, I'm so displeased with this "cat" lol it's pretty fugly.
Anywho..here you go -_-
Black Cat mani fail Black Cat mani fail
Stuff I used..
I started off with 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Ridge Filler Basecoat,
 followed by Deborah Lippmann-Naked.
I stamped my Index and pinky nails with the DRK-A stamping plate and Milani-Black Swift.
My ring finger has 2 coats of A England-Bridal Veil.
My awful cat was made with a mixture of the following polishes.
Spoiled-Did I Dye It Too Blonde?
Opi-Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees
Zoya-Dove
Milani-Black Swift
Serum No. 5 Dayglow (I couldn't get a picture of it glowing well)

Blah, Hopefully my next look doesn't come out so bad lol
If it helps my daughter was being really loud when I did the cat >.<

A Manicure Worthy Of A Time Lord. *Picture Heavy*

Hey guys! I am so SO excited to make this post!
And I am extremely excited for the new season of Doctor Who! :D
So here is my *attempt* at Doctor Who themed nail art for my fellow Whovians!
I love when I get to include things I love with my love of nail polish!

I am pretty bummed that all of our Doctor Who stuff is in storage though.
I would have had cooler pictures holding the Sonic Screwdriver, and my hubbies awesome stopwatch.
Or our Tardis cookie jar. /sigh
Random shout out and thanks to Thinkgeek for being awesome. We have spent too much money there :)
I know that these aren't perfect, but I tried extremely hard on them. I couldn't be happier with how they came out! I feel like I am finally getting better at free handing!

Thumb: The Doctor Who logo. As you can probably tell I couldn't fit the top bit, oops!
Pointer: Tardis in space :)
Middle: This nail was inspired by the 11th Doctor's wardrobe :)
Ring: I attempted (key word!) a Dalek.
Pinky: A Fez! Fezzes are cool 'nough said!

SO if you are ready,
                                                                       Come Along Pond.

Pinky: Deborah Lippmann-Naked. China Glaze-Loft-y Ambitions; Poinsettia. L.A. Colors Black Striper.
Aside from polish I used a couple dotting tools, a few nail art brushes (clean up brush, a striping brush)  pure acetone, and my holy grail TC Seche Vite.

If you have any questions at all let me know! I would also like to know who is YOUR Doctor?
I love Matt Smith and he is awesome, but David Tennant will anyways be MY Doctor :D

Have a great weekend you guys!!

True Blood Celebratory Splatter Mani!

Well..not quite yet BUT it will be tonight and I can't wait! I thought what better way to celebrate than to do a "True Blood" Mani!
My first try wasn't so great, I dripped the polish onto my nails and ending up dinging two of them.
So I went for the Splatter approach, I've done it before plus it is fast & easy and I wanted to sleep!

So first I used one coat of my Deborah Lippman Ridge Filler basecoat! Topped with two coats of Deborah Lippmann-Naked. (I meant to get a picture of it alone, but of course I forgot! lol
Then I used the Splatter method with China Glaze-Ravishing Dahling (The PERFECT blood red!)
I opted to not use a topcoat because I think it makes it look like blood is really splattered onto my nails instead of it being even and all super shiny, etc
I really hope you guys enjoy :)

And also for those of you who are bored and aren't lacking free time (especially about 10:30 mins!)
I did a makeup video while tipsy onto my sister hehe I blame Jenna Marbles! ;)
It actually turned out well, but I am a giggly mess! I did it on her because I have pink eye at the moment
(yay toddlers!) Hope you all have a laugh at my expense :P

Love you all! -Sarah

Mustache's & Monocles! China Glaze-Cream Puff

Hey guys! Yes two posts today!
This is like the third try of mine doing a Mustache Mani..still don't have it down yet!
But oh well LOL Then I saw this mani http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/top-hats-and-monocles
and I had to add little Monocles to mine! It didn't come out perfect at all, but that is what practice is for!
And I of course had to take off my wedding ring to put on my Mustache ring to match :D

Hope you guys enjoy! I used 2 coats of Deborah Lippman's nude ridge filler basecoat, and then two very thin coats of China Glaze-Cream Puff! Topped that with Seche Vite and then when dry I used Milani-Black Swift & Milani-White on the Spot with dotting tools to make the Monocle & Mustache :)
