Comic Con Geek Week Nail Art - Portal Nail Art

Okay so were supposed to be on Day 2 I did these super late last night and couldn't post on time :(
I will try to catch up but I'm not sure I will have time to even finish this challenge since my nephews will be here soon and I'm going to be watching them while my sister is at Comic Con, but I will try!
Gives me a chance to do nail art that I already plan to do anyway!

For day one I decided to do a game mani, since I don't read very often anymore.
It was hard to decide between WoW, Bioshock and Portal! I chose Portal, seemed easiest and I was tired!

Portal Nails Portal Nail Art

So I didn't do the greatest job, I was sleepy.
The pink used was China Glaze Dance Baby and the grey is Zoya Kelly. The rest is acrylic paint.

My mani includes the Portal logo, a test subject jumping through a portal, Companion Cube, a turret and the cake is a lie (yeah the cake doesn't look great lol)

Now I need to decide which TV show to do nail art for and hope I can get to that asap! :)

Belated 10/16-Halloween Nail Art Challenge- Freestyle

Hey guys! I know that this is late-and to be completely honest today's will be also.
(Seeing as I haven't done it yet!)  >.< I keep losing track of this challenge.

Sorry for the bad clean up, and the bad writing I feel super jumbled up currently O_o

Pointer:
I was going for a Mummy. lol
I used Illamasqua-Scorn, Milani-White on the Spot and Serum No. 5 Dayglow for the eyes,

Middle:
A Failed attempt at a Ruffle Mani-been wanting to try this forever! I wish I could do them as good as Sarah! This was my official first attempt at one. I accidentally smudged it and had to redo a bit at the bottom.. and then it smeared when I used TC : /
The polishes I used for this are Zoya-Mira, Opi-A Roll in the Hague, Orly-Fresh, Zoya-Pinta, Illamasqua-Rare, Illamasqua-GammaIllamasqua-Scorn and Illamasqua-Poke.

Ring:
I started with SpaRitual-Blue moon on a little over half my nail, and the other half I used China Glaze-West Side Warrior. Using white I painted the mood and Tombstone on my nail. I west over the stone with Zoya-Dove. Using a medium striper I used Zoya-Shawn and Zoya-Dree to make the "Grass" look less boring. Stamped on black bats with BM-213, and added the RIP and black along the edge of the tombstone.

Pinky:
I couldn't decide what to do here. I used Serum No. 5- Dayglow over white, and then put Opi-Spotted on top to test it out.

Halloween Nail Art Challenge - Witches 10/11 (Charmed inspired!)

Hey guys! So today's nail art is witch themed!
I hope you guys don't mind but I took a bit of a turn on this one..
I figured everybody would be doing the same things, witch hats, broomsticks, and I don't know today's challenge seemed a bit boring to me.

It IS still witch inspired but not so much Halloween. I went for a Charmed manicure!

I wanted to dedicate today's post to my sister Marilyn.
She is the most amazing, wonderful, beautiful, supportive sister a girl could have.
And Charmed is one of her favorite shows ever! (Probably her second favorite, Buffy is #1!)
I never saw the show until me & My brother visited her in Germany,
the three of us tore through 5 seasons in a matter of a week or two! And she made me a fan :)
Not nearly as big as her, but it is a great show!

Fyi, sorry about my dry hands and that the bottle is a bit grody looking. -_-
Witch nail art Charmed Mani (2) Charmed Manicure (1)

Products Used & What they are supposed to be :)

Index: The Plogo.
Zoya-Dove, SpaRitual-Sacred Ground, Zoya-Kristen, and Zoya-Barbie.
I used Dove as the base color and sponged on a bit of Sacred Ground. I used a striping brush for the rest.

Middle: The Book of Shadows.
Deborah Lippmann-Naked, Zoya-Evvie, Revlon Moon Candy 1
China Glaze-Westside Warrior, Zoya-Codie, Zoya-Tansen.
I used the same striping brush, and did the outline of the book. I filled it in with Westside Warrior, added Codie to the corners and the other greens randomy to make it less boring.
I used A straw and Tamsen for the circle in the Triquetra (I placed it too high >.< and the book smeared *sigh*) and did the rest with the striping brush.

Ring: Inspired from Cole as Belthazor. From his demonic red & black skin.
Zoya-Tamsen, Cult-Nails-Evil Queen, Jordana-Hawaiian Flower, China Glaze-Velvet Bow and Wnw-Black Creme.
I used multiple reds so it didn't look flat and plain, though it's hard to even tell. I just sponged on the other reds on, around the corners on top or Evil Queen. I did the black with the same striping brush. Not easy >.< Messed up quite a bit lol!

Pinky: I got lazy and I couldn't decide what to do for this nail. D: Sorry nothing special about this one! Zoya-Codie, and Cult Nails-In A Trance sponged on the tip.

I really hope some of you guys liked this :)
Not a show that is on currently but I know it had a big following!

Halloween Nail Art Challenge - Z is for Zombies 10/9

BRAAAIIINNNNSSSSSS hehe Today's Nail art challenge is ZOMBIES!
While I'm sure mine isn't the best or most creative-I really LOVE it!

The first few photos were taken right after I did them! I was like hell, why clean up lets add shit!
Haha so I used some matte burgundy, black and dark brown eye shadows to make my hands and cuticles look extra gross. including some liquid eyeliner to accentuate the creases on my fingers/knuckles.

Then before posting I decided to clean them up, the eye shadows were already washed off from washing my hands so lets make it look nice to wear in public haha..yes I do indeed plan to!
I also added a bit more "blood".
I will list the polishes & stuff I used below the pictures!

And all tidied up..
Zombie Mani Zombie Mani Zombie Manicure Zombie Manicure
I was trying to make them look like they were rotting, bloody and bruised under my nail.
I love how it came out :)

What I used!

I started with Nailtiques & basecoat per usual, followed with a single coat of Deborah Lippmann-Naked.
Afterwards I used a medium striping brush to line the Lunula of my nail with Urban Decay-Apocalypse.

Then using wedge makeup sponges, I sponged the following colors on rather randomly.
I used Zoya-Codie plus three acrylic paints in Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, and Raw Umber.
I also used the same colors to paint a bit of lines/marks with the same striping brush.

When that was dry I used two very thin coat of French Tip Dip Sheer Genius to sandwich what I did to make it appear beneath my nails. I added a coat of Seche Vite.
Here is what I did that you shouldn't do! (If you wanted to create this effect anyway.)
Do NOT add the blood before you use matte topcoat! Unless you want it all matte.
I wanted the blood to look fresh and running down my finger tips. SO I had to go back over it with topcoat to make it shiny lol. Not the end of the world but meh. Anyways..
After that is dry, using China Glaze-Ravishing Dahling (my go to blood color!)
I added the "blood"with a combo of the striping brush, and the brush from the polish bottle. Mostly the bottle brush to make it less neat. I used Butter London-Matte Finish to make it matte, and SV to make it shiny.

That is all! It sounds like it took sooo much longer than it really does-trust me!
I really hope you guys liked my gross nails :)
I'm a weirdo and seriously love them! Speaking of Zombies who else can't wait for The Walking Dead?!

Off to sleep! Bye guys!

Halloween Nail Art Challenge - Trick or Treats 10/1

Hey guys!! Wow October already?! Craziness.
Today's part of the challenge is Trick or Treats! So here are my treat covered nails :) Enjoy! Halloween Nail Art Trick or Treats (1) Halloween Nail Art Trick or Treats (7) Halloween Nail Art Trick or Treats (8) Halloween Nail Art Trick or Treats (2) Halloween Nail Art Trick or Treats (11) Halloween Nail Art Trick or Treats (16)

Okay I used a lot of polish! When don't I? I think that's how I justify the amount of polish I own.
"Just use as many as possible during nail art!" haha.

Can you tell that my ring finger is supposed to be a gummy bear? Oh..Well, it is.
Kind of a funny looking little guy. hehe
And my middle finger a cupcake with a skull on top, which I'm not sure is obvious or not.

  • Pointer & Pinky: I used Bundle Monster plate BM-306. Milani-Yellow Whiz; Fast Fuchsia, Opi-A Roll in          the Hague, Illamasqua-Poke & Smash, Zoya-Robyn & China Glaze-Aquadelic.
  • Middle: Illamasqua-Poke & Smash, Opi-A Roll in the Hague, Cult Nails-Deal with It, Wet n Wild-Black Creme, Nail-Venturous-Humblebee & Trelly's Misc Polish-Sunset Boat Ride.
  • Ring: China Glaze-Poinsettia, Zoya-Kate & Harley, and Lush Lacquer-Shred Me Silly.

I started with a coat of Nailtiques Formula 2, and three coats of Zoya-Harley.
For the stamping, I just placed multiple dots of polish on the plate before I scraped it.
For my cupcake nail I applied a coat of Smash on the bottom 1/2 of my nail, then repeated with Deal with it.  I did the stripes with a striping brush and A Roll in the Hague, the icing with Poke the biggest dotting tool I have.
I dabbed some of Humblebee & Sunset Boat Ride onto Poke with the polish brushes for sprinkles.
The "skull" was done with a dotting tool. Finished with two coats of SV.  /whew! :D
