A Fun Fishnet French Manicure!

Hey guys! Guess what today is? Closing day!!! Today we will be homeowners! O:

Today's post is a copy cat manicure that I saw Lauryn of Polish Revolution post on her Instagram!
See her Butter London inspired manicure without the stamping here, and with it here!

I like Lauryn's better but scroll down to see mine below!

Black French Manicure Fishnet French Manicure (1) Fishnet French Manicure (2)

I started with nail strengthener, then used a small striping brush & A England Camelot for the French Tips and Half Moons.
For the stamping I used MoYou London Pro Collection 02 XL plate and Konad stamping polish in black.

What do you guys think of this mani? It smudged a tiny bit and it's not quite perfect.
I don't really ever do French Tips or Half Moons so I need to more to get the practice!

Also Is there a name for a French Manicure with Half Moons?
I haven't found one so if there isn't I think we should name it!

Happy Hands Are You Afraid of the Dark Halloween Collection 2013 - Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Hi all! Today's post the the Are You Afraid of the Dark? Halloween Collection from Happy Hands Nail Polish!
I'm so mad at myself for not remembering any specific Are You Afraid of the Dark? episodes right now!
definitely remember the show but apparently my memory crapped out on retaining all of those memories :(
Either that or I have mixed them up with Goosebumps!

Happy Hands Are You Afraid of the Dark Collection
Happy Hands Laughing in the Dark
Laughing in the Dark - Three coats.

"It’s the most fun in the park when you’re laughing in the dark… Don’t be scared while wearing this purple
jelly with neon green, yellow, red, and purple glitters, inspired by Zeebo the cigar-smoking clown."

Laughing in the Dark went on unevenly for me, the base is really smooth but the glitters made it a little clumpy when it was layered so it didn't go on perfectly smooth. Since the formula wasn't perfect I decided to layer it and I prefer it that way!

Happy Hands Laughing in the Dark Layered
Two coats of  Laughing in the Dark over Illamasqua Prosperity.

Happy Hands Super Specs (2)
Super Specs - One coat plus a little dabbing over Cult Nails Lamestain.

"Use this glitter topcoat to see into another dimension (but don’t say I didn’t warn you!)
This polish is packed with holographic silver glitter, iridescent glitter, purple shimmer, and green flecks."

Super Specs went on perfect and smooth! I love the purple micro shimmer!

Happy Hands Super Specs (1)
One coat of Super Specs over The Midnight Society.

Happy Hands The Midnight Society (1)
The Midnight Society - Four thin coats.

"Submitted for your approval, this is a glow-in-the-dark blue jelly (and it also glows blue) with micro iridescent glitters.
I declare this meeting of the Midnight Society closed."

The Midnight Society has a great formula, it is a little sheer and dries semi matte.
It looks slightly uneven before you add topcoat but with topcoat it looks perfect.
The VNL is slightly more apparent in the photo than in person.

Happy Hands The Midnight Society (2)
The Midnight Society glowing!

Happy HandsThe Tale of the Dark Music (1)
The Tale of the Dark Music - Three coats.

"Won’t you come play with me? This is a black jelly filled with microglitters in red, fuchsia, purple,
and blue, and reminiscent of something evil lurking behind that cellar door."

The Tale of the Dark Music is a bit sheer too so I decided to layer it below.
But the formula is amazing, it went on smooth and evenly.

Happy HandsThe Tale of the Dark Music (2)
Two coats of The Tale of the Dark Music over Black. (I can't remember specifically which one.)

I posted my thoughts under the polish descriptions so I will keep this area short.

Enchanted Polish Vampires Suck (1) Enchanted Polish Vampires Suck (5) Enchanted Polish Vampires Suck (2) Enchanted Polish Vampires Suck (4)

I'm currently having a dilemma too, my phone is broken and I was thinking of selling some polish so I could buy one..
I know that my Enchanted's could sell pretty quick and I could buy a new one...but they are just so lovely
:( I don't think that I can part with them.

If you follow me on Instagram I'm sorry I haven't been posting,
I will try to post occasionally on my husbands phone but each time I have to download IG since he doesn't use it lol
I will get a new phone sometime soonish (I hope!) So don't unfollow me :)

Okay enough rambling! I'm curious what is on your wishlist currently? What do you want the most?
One of my big lemmings is Enchanted Polish Mr. Burgandy /drool and the Fall Elevation Polish Collection!

China Glaze Monsters Ball 2013 Halloween Collection - Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today's post is featuring three polishes from the China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection!

I hope you are all doing good and enjoying the Fall! Man it's already getting so much colder here! Brr
There is a freeze warning here, what the heck D: It's times like this when I miss Georgia the most lol.

China Glaze Bat My Eyes
Bat My Eyes - Three coats.

China Glaze Boo-gie Down (1)
Boo-gie Down - One coat over Barielle In Good Taste.

China Glaze Howl You Doin
Howl You Doin - Three coats.

______________________________________________________

Bat My Eyes was on the thick side, it wasn't the easiest to apply but it also didn't cause me any difficulty at all.
Just apply it a little slow and careful  in between coats so it don't clump up for you.
Howl You Doin was slightly thinner but still not too thin or runny. It applied easily, but a little streaky so I used three coats.

For both Bat My Eyes and Howl you Doin I used two coats of topcoat to smooth them out perfectly.
You can get away with one for Howl You Doin but I definitely suggest two for Bat My Eyes.
Bat My Eyes dries bumpy from the glitter, almost like a texture polish.
It's gorgeous with topcoat so personally, I think it's worth it. It's my favorite of these three!

I was impressed by Boo-gie Nights. It has great coverage for a mainstream glitter topper and was very easy to apply.
I didn't have to try to apply it evenly or place glitters.

The China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection is available at Beauty Supply Stores nationwide, including Ulta and Sallys.

They are also on Amazon!

Pahlish The Great Pumpkin Duo, Dark Carnival Duo, Lady of Raynham Hall and Thunderous Sparks - Swatches & Review!

Purchased By Me Press Sample

Hey guys! Who is excited Halloween? I am! But I'm even more excited to move.
At the same time I'm dreading it! Packing and moving is so much work D:  Only 10 days left!!

Sorry for the mini hiatus, I went a whole week without polishing my nails which is odd for me.
Been packing and dealing with another bout of depression (Yay! - not)
In other news my phone broke so a blog sale will likely happen sometime after the move so keep an eye out!
Until then sorry if my Instagram is pretty dead : / But I will be back, I promise!

But anyhow today's post is featuring some gorgeous fall polishes from Pahlish!

Pahlish Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch
Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch - Three coats. Spread perfectly, amazing formula!

"A multi-shimmered black jelly with gold, olive, pink, and copper shimmers."

Pahlish Bag of Rocks
Bag of Rocks - One coat over Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch.
Went on very easy, not heavily even but it would be easy to dab on areas that you want more glitter.

"A
clear based topped with a mix of gunmetal and chartreuse glitters in hex/squares/circles accented by a subtle olive green shimmer."

The Great Pumpkin Duo is Inspired by  It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
It consists of Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch and Bag of Rocks.

Pahlish Tom Fury
Tom Fury - Four thin coats. A little sheer but stunning.
I added a fourth coat because the edges looked a little patchy/thinner.

"A deep olive jelly with a mix of red, charcoal, and taupe shimmering flakes!"

Pahlish The Dust Witch
The Dust Witch - One coat over Tom Fury. Spreads on easy and smooth, a little runny but easy to manipulate.

"A clear based topper with a mix of orange, olive, purple, and melon green metallic glitter including purple squares and melon green dots!"

The Dark Carnival Duo is Inspired by one of Shannon's favorite books, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. This duo consists of The Dust Witch and Tom Fury.
Pahlish Lady of Raynham Hall
Lady of Raynham Hall - Three coats. A bit streaky, nothing terrible but definitely not effortless.

"An ethereal dove grey jelly with metallic gold sparks and spectral aqua blue shimmer, very spooky!"

Pahlish Thunderous Sparks
Thunderous Sparks - Three coats. Went on smooth & easy. Great formula!

"A vibrant candy apple red jelly with pink/purple shimmer, translucent purple sparks, and a mix of holographic and metallic red micro-glitter."

______________________________________________________

I don't know about you guys but I have been so impressed by Pahlish lately!
Shannon has been on a roll.. It's bad for my bank account!

I'm really loving the darker fall shades! Tom Fury is STUNNING.
I think I'd have to say Tom Fury and Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch are my favorites!
Lady of Raynham Hall is unique and gorgeous, the formula was the most difficult but it was manageable.

I love the duos Pahlish has been releasing! It's such a great purchase for those who may not be great at picking glitter toppers to match undies or for people who just don't want to look for glitter toppers and simply like to have one designed to layer. Sometimes it's nice to not have to think about it, but still end up with an amazing combination!

Some of these are starting to run really low so if you see something you like go snatch it up!

You can purchase Pahlish from their Bigcartel Shop.
The Great Pumpkin Duo is currently on sale for $13.00!
The Dark Carnival Duo is $15.00 and single pahlishes are $9.00 each!

Also you can follow Pahlish on Facebook, Twitter and now also on Instagram!

What do you guys think of these? Also be sure to check out the new Pahlish holos! They look stunning!

Nfu-Oh #51

Purchased By Me Press Sample
Hi all! Another quickie post for you today!
(I completely forgot how easy and quick it is to blog when it's not a review lol!)

Nfu-Oh #51...You beautiful, beautiful flakie filled mofo. I love you.

Nfu oh 51

I have seriously been itching to wear this beauty again! I saw an opportunity when I had Contrary Polish River Market on - so I went for it! (Check out the new Contrary Collection here if you missed it!)
I added one coat over River Market!

Nfu oh 51 (2) Nfu oh 51 (1) Nfu oh 51 (3) Nfuoh 51 (4)

The last photo is a bit crazy, I had to make the indirect lighting crazy bright to bring out the shift on the flakies.
And then adjust the contrast in Photoshop so it is edited some! But only to show you it's glorious-ness!

I still can't get over the cuteness of the Nfu-Oh bottles or how pretty this polish is..and I've had this polish for two years!

Opi Every Month Is Oktoberfest & Elevation Polish Toubkal!

Hey guys! Today's post is a short one, like me, hehe!
I really felt like wearing something deep and vampy the other day so of course I took pictures for you guys :)

I started off with the beautiful Opi Every Month Is Oktoberfest, I used three thin coats.

Opi Every Month Is Oktoberfest (1) Opi Every Month Is Oktoberfest (2)

And Elevation Polish Toubkal was hanging out in my vast amount of untrieds
(Thanks to amazing and generous Ida from Ida Nails It!)
So I decided to use it! I've been wanting to but I thought I'd wait until Fall.

This polish can build up easily on it's own, and is completely stunning that way.
The flakies create amazing dimension! But I really wanted to try it layered! :)
So then I added one coat to Every month Is Oktoberfest, and...tada!

Elevation Toubkal (1) Elevation Toubkal (2)

How pretty are they layered?! I love this combo!

Opi and Evelvation layering (2) Elevation polish Toubkal Macro

And here is a crazy gorgeous macro shot of Toubkal! How pretty is that?!
The macro is a tiny bit lighter than it looks in person but I had to turn another lamp on to capture all the flakies!

Anyway, I hope you are all having a wonderful week and that today is amazing :)

Contrary Polish No Place Like Home Collection Fall 2013 - Swatches & Review!

Hi Guys! Guess what?! You get a second post from me today!!
I have so many Fall & Halloween Collections and unfortunately haven't been able to get many done by their release but I worked my butt off narrowing these down and editing them for you this morning!

So today's second post is the Contrary Polish No Place Like Home Collection!
Which is based of of and inspired from Carrie's hometown - Kansas City.
I'm not sure how many of you know this, but that is where I live! Though I've only been here under two years. I remember the shock from both me and Carrie when she contacted me about a review, I gave her my address and to our surprise we live about 15 minutes from one another! Small world huh?

We actually met at La Bodega, the place The Boulevard is inspired from! :)
Anywho onto the swatches!

______________________________________________________

Well I am in love with this collection, this is hands down my favorite Contrary Polish Collection so far!
Not that I don't love the others I own!
(Seriously if you haven't tried her polishes you MUST, she is incredibly talented! She's the Shimmer MASTER!)

All of these had amazing formula's and went on smooth and easy.
West Bottoms is a bit too sheer to build up, at least for me (I use thin coats) but I LOVE it layered! I tried it over a few other greens and a teal too it's stunning!
I seriously love each and every one of these, if I absolutely HAD to choose a favorite I'd say 18th &Vine!

This Collection launches today at 1 pm CST on Llarowe for $11.00 each!
(Only 35 minutes from NOW!)
