Halloween Nail Art Challenge - Z is for Zombies 10/9

BRAAAIIINNNNSSSSSS hehe Today's Nail art challenge is ZOMBIES!
While I'm sure mine isn't the best or most creative-I really LOVE it!

The first few photos were taken right after I did them! I was like hell, why clean up lets add shit!
Haha so I used some matte burgundy, black and dark brown eye shadows to make my hands and cuticles look extra gross. including some liquid eyeliner to accentuate the creases on my fingers/knuckles.

Then before posting I decided to clean them up, the eye shadows were already washed off from washing my hands so lets make it look nice to wear in public haha..yes I do indeed plan to!
I also added a bit more "blood".
I will list the polishes & stuff I used below the pictures!

And all tidied up..

I was trying to make them look like they were rotting, bloody and bruised under my nail.
I love how it came out :)

What I used!

I started with Nailtiques & basecoat per usual, followed with a single coat of Deborah Lippmann-Naked.
Afterwards I used a medium striping brush to line the Lunula of my nail with Urban Decay-Apocalypse.

Then using wedge makeup sponges, I sponged the following colors on rather randomly.
I used Zoya-Codie plus three acrylic paints in Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, and Raw Umber.
I also used the same colors to paint a bit of lines/marks with the same striping brush.

When that was dry I used two very thin coat of French Tip Dip Sheer Genius to sandwich what I did to make it appear beneath my nails. I added a coat of Seche Vite.

Here is what I did that you shouldn't do! (If you wanted to create this effect anyway.)
Do NOT add the blood before you use matte topcoat! Unless you want it all matte.
I wanted the blood to look fresh and running down my finger tips. SO I had to go back over it with topcoat to make it shiny lol. Not the end of the world but meh. Anyways..

After that is dry, using China Glaze-Ravishing Dahling (my go to blood color!)
I added the "blood"with a combo of the striping brush, and the brush from the polish bottle. Mostly the bottle brush to make it less neat. I used Butter London-Matte Finish to make it matte, and SV to make it shiny.

That is all! It sounds like it took sooo much longer than it really does-trust me!
I really hope you guys liked my gross nails :)

I'm a weirdo and seriously love them! Speaking of Zombies who else can't wait for The Walking Dead?!

Today's EOTD! It matches my Gradient Mani!

Hey guys! I was playing with my new Sleek makeup Palette and came up with this!
It wasn't until I looked at my blog that I realized it matches the mani I still have on! Doh! hehe
No wonder the color combo came to me so easily :P

I used my new Sleek Ultra Matte i-Divine V1 Bright Palette!

The Bright blue is Bolt, it's in my inner corner and under my lower lash line over Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner-Electric.

The crease has Bolt Mixed with Sugarlite (a bright purple) And then Pow! is the highlight.

I REALLY messed up the eyeliner, stupid blinking :P 

I seriously suck at liquid eyeliner, but hey A for effort right?...Right? :)

The liquid liner is Kat Von D Tattoo eyeliner. Mascara Bare Essentaisl Buxom Lash

FOTD/EOTD & Yesterday's NOTD but Matte! =]

:) Well I stayed up too late last night and now I can't sleep! So I decided to play with some makeup!

 These two close up's kind of wash it out a bit, but most the ones I took only had half my eye haha! Still learning to take makeup pictures I'd afraid!

I was bored and figured I'd swatch the stuff I used lol

 (L-R) Mac Kissable Lipgloss-Flaunting It, Illamasqua Brow Cake-Well.. the label doesn't say, that's odd I believe it is Thunder though..,Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner-Perversion, Maybelline Color Tattoo-Bold Gold, UD-Skimp, UD-Mushroom, UD-Bender, UD-Cobra, Sugarpill- Goldlux, Wet n wild Blush-Mellow Wine.

First I covered my lid with TooFaced-Shadow Insurance, and then covered it with Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold. I patted a tiny Bit of Sugarpill-Goldilux into my inner corners.
After that I used UD-Mushroom in my crease, then deeped it with UD-Cobra.
Added a tiny bit of UD-Bender into the crease but you can't see it in the pictures.
Highlighted with UD-Skimp, Filled in my brows, I used Urban Decay's Supercurl curling mascara (I used a lot of Urban Decay, trying out my new book of shadows!)
Smashbox limitless eyeliner on onyx on my lower waterline.
I used Missha BB Cream in #21 with my Sigma flat top kabuki brush.
Applied the blush with my Mac 186SE (Christmas mini version)

Annnddd That pretty much sums it up lol!
And of course, it wouldn't be complete without a silly face photo.

I had a pretty great one! I met a friend for the first time in person who I met in a FB group (a fellow makeup lover!) And we had a girls day in Nashville! We went to Mac, Sephora, and tons of other places!

Lynnderella-Mercurial & Bright Green/Teal/Lime EOTD

 Hey guys! Today's post is Lynnderella-Mercurial over Zoya-Pinta.
The base in mercurial was darker than I thought so you can't really see the blurple-ness of Pinta,
 but I like how it turned out. I used 2 Coats of Pinta, Along with two of Mercurial.
Pictures didn't come out as great as I hoped and I wanted to get better ones but it chipped :(

And here is my EOTD! I've been experimenting with color more, but I'm still not ballsy enough to wear a look like this out of the house :) lol But hey Practice is always good! I'm really happy with how it came out! I finally feel like I'm getting better.

Yesterday's EOTD

Hey guys! I haven't felt inspired to do my nails lately.. They have been naked for 2 days now.
So I decided to share my eye makeup from yesterday! I'm really happy with how it came out.

I know this is primarily a nail blog, but makeup is also another passion of mine, I am nowhere near being pro but I do think that practice is good and keeping a log of it can help!

I'm so not used to wearing colored shadow, I usually just do brown and gold or similar shades but I really want to ease myself into wearing more color so I can start wearing more colorful & dramatic looks outside the house!
I think this came out really good, definitely wearable small pop of color look.

And here is my whole face, the lamp near me washed me out and makes me appear more pale than I actually am. Although I am super pale still lol, but I can't believe it washed my blush out :( Oh well!

Oh and I want to say that the Mascara SUCKS, Mostly because within a hour or less it was already flakey and falling onto my under eye region. This is a sample I got from Sephora for free so I don't really mind, and maybe the samples dry out quicker I don't know but It isn't even a month old and flaking so I though I'd warn you!
It did decent in terms of length but it didn't curl my lashes at all.

Hope you guys enjoyed this even a little! I know you probably come here to see my nails but I figured maybe you'd rather see makeup instead of nothing at all :)  Plus it's my blog and I can share if I want to :P lol

My Camera can be very unforgiving and the blending looked so pretty irl, also the green in the outer corner wasn't picked up much either but trust me it was so pretty in person!

The warm toned Gold in the Sephora Metallize Palette over about 2/3rds of my lid

For my eyebrows I filled them in with Illamasqua brow cake in Thunder
& went over that with Per-fekt brow gel in Espresso

/whew haha a lot I know I was bored and waiting on the pies!

Sephora Metallize Palette Swatches & EOTD

Hey guys! Today I have a makeup post for you!

just got my new lightbox and I's trying to sort through it all!

But anyway I wanted this IMMEDIATELY when I saw it in Sephora, but for some reason passed on it
(well Nails Inc Magnetic reasons lol) But I knew I HAD to have it!
I don't have the Illamasqua Liquid Metal Palette, but I have been lemming for it for A LONG time.
But..I just didn't think I could spend that much on something I wasn't sure I would use all the time, but this is the perfect exception! I'm not sure if they are complete dupes but I do know that this is Beautiful!

I used the silver in my EOTD I just covered my entire lid with it!
( Wish I took pictures of each step)
(All shadows I used are from the UD 15th anni Palette, besides the silver)
I started with Junkshow in my crease

 Followed by Omen. & Blended them together well.

Then to deepen the crease color I used a combination of Deep End & Evidence.

I softened the edges with Tainted

 Used Vanilla on my brow bone

& added a bit of midnight 15 to my inner corner.

Used the same shadows on my lower lashline, and UD
